Things for the Year 2008
January 30th, 2008
Here’s a little update on things in the works this year, in case you’re wondering:
1. Mail Bag Tearing at the Seams
For those who have emailed in the past month or so, I apologize for being so far behind. I’m working to catch up on the mail bag. I’ve only had time for answering the Emergency Mail! I’ll get to all of it eventually. Thanks for your patience.
2. Shop Coming Soon
Some folks have suggested that they would be interested in purchasing goods and sundry products, adorned with We The Robots designs and motifs. Rest assured, eager capitalists, I am working on the shop and hope to launch it soon. Anyone interested in suggesting product ideas, please don’t hesitate to email me. Planned products may include some… or all… or more than all… of the following:
- Limited-edition, hand-made screen prints depicting your favorite characters and scenarios! Artistic!
- T-shirts with clever slogans and sexy imagery!
- Reproductions of your very favorite comic strip episodes, faithfully translated from screen to page using the very latest
automated printing machine technology!
- A printed collection, in book form, of the first 12 months of comics (at the end of the year, obviously)
3. We The Robots on your Telephone?!
What?! Yes! Starting in mid/late February, We The Robots will be available for viewing on tiny, tiny cell phone screens. I am told the kids today like to take things with them wherever they go. Personally, I like to leave things behind when I go, but to each his own. More details on that once it gets going.
4. Further Experiments
Hopefully it will be a good year for experimenting with the form of the comic a bit… trying out some longer, interwoven story lines, for example…
There should also eventually be a place to download some things like wallpapers and icons and such. Again, if you have ideas for those kinds of things, please don’t hesitate to email.
Also we’ll continue to test different forms of advertising and sponsorship. The ads we’ve run so far have made the initial investment in the shop possible. So they do serve a good purpose.
